Courses
Mechatronics Polytechnic of Sanata Dharma offers diploma courses in Mechatronics, Medical Instrumentation, and Mechatronics Product Design. Practice is emphasized over theory, with two-thirds of class time spent in actual practice. The aim is to furnish job-ready graduates in both automated and medical applications, in line with increased industrial automation and health needs in Indonesia.
Mechatronics includes three areas of engineering: software, mechanical, and electrical. Skills encompass production, maintenance, and marketing of the latest technology. Course work includes mechanical drawing, electronics, computers and digital systems, sensors, microcontrollers, electric motors, and robotics.
Medical instrumentation graduates set up, test, and train in the use of medical instruments. Courses include topics like human physiology, electronics, computers, microcontrollers, digital systems, drawing, and medical instrumentation.
Product design focuses on improved sale value, functionality, and safety of products. Graduates should be capable of determining the shape, aesthetical style, design, and prototype of mechatronic products. Coursework focuses on technical drawing, aesthetics, designing, ergonomics, and presentation techniques.
PMSD has realized partnerships with 14 corporations that have facilitated the schooling and employment of students. It is also a member of the Indonesian section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (OEEE).
Employment opportunities include the following: automotive, food and packaging, electronics, pharmacy, oil and gas, mining, chemical, construction (elevator/escalator), hospital equipment, medical instrument maintenance in hospital, manufacturing, education and training, textiles, medical equipment suppliers, IT and computer solutions, home appliances, automation solution consultancy, toys, entrepreneurs, system control instrumentation, and designer products in mechatronics.

Logo
The five-pointed lotus leaf symbolizes the five principles that are the foundation of the Indonesian state (Pancasila). A blue-black-gray, three-part synergizing icon is in the middle. The three conveys the components of mechatronics (mechanical, electrical engineering, software) as well as the three departments (mechatronics, medical instrumentation, and mechatronic product design). Blue signifies technology, black sophistication and strength, and gray intellect and foresight.
