Emily Cox is a US puzzle writer. She and her partner, Henry Rathvon, wrote "The Atlantic Puzzler," a cryptic crossword featured each month in the magazine The Atlantic Monthly from 1977 to August 2009. (After March 2006, the Puzzler was published solely online at The Atlantic's website.) They also create acrostic puzzles for The New York Times, cryptic crosswords for Canada's National Post, various puzzles for the US Airways in-flight magazine, and Sunday crosswords for The Boston Globe. Cox and Rathvon are now also contributing cryptic crosswords to the Wall Street Journal on Saturdays.

Personal life

Emily and her partner, Henry, lived in Hershey, Pennsylvania. At young age, Emily showed interest in playing trombone, painting suspension bridges, as well as reading about science matters and rock climbing.
